Phyllis D.R. Sanders
Artist Bio
Resident Artist, Phyllis “Phil" Sanders, is a designer, nature photographer, artist, poet, and developer whose work moves across mediums, pulling from personal archives, environmental observation, advocacy, and lived experience. Her practice has never been tied to a single medium, rather, it shifts between tactile art, digital design, images, words, and other mixed media.
Throughout 2025, she introduced a simple, ongoing challenge called Playing with Shapes, as an open invitation to create without pressure or expectation. While minimal in structure, it became a grounding point within a much larger body of work, allowing space to experiment, process, and play.
Across her work, the focus is on the process and experience of creation, collections are designed to build over time, informed by what came before and what is still unfolding. The Elements Collection, and the Earth Day Art Exhibition emerge from this way of creating, where individual pieces expand, and take on meaning in relation to each other.
