Amanda Flores
Collage Artist
Amanda Flores (b. 1988) is an American abstract artist who uses mixed media and collage as a conduit for expressing her narrative of identity and liberation. Amanda is a disabled, neurodivergent woman who examines the layers of her personal, social, and political context through art. Mrs. Flores is inspired by Modern Art Movements of the 20th and 21st centuries, especially Paul Klee, Josef Albers, and the Bauhaus movement. She employs elements of classical design as well as intuitive practice into her pieces, which have been described as beautiful, naïve, and whimsical. Amanda uses acrylic-painted paper mounted on various wooden substrates. She employs a multitude of secondhand and salvaged materials in her work. Amanda also dabbles in assemblage and portraiture in oil pastel. Mrs. Flores holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. She lives in Sebring, Florida with her family, including her husband, artist Juan Flores, and their cat, Kiwi.
