About This Member

Phyllis Sanders is a Creative Director and Strategist with a background in information technology, strategic development, and brand design. Her work focuses on helping organizations and artists use technology in ways that feel intentional, by supporting storytelling, connection, and more sustainable, inclusive ways of working.
Experience in technology consulting, nonprofit development, and creative direction shape an approach that looks beyond deliverables to the systems behind them. A particular focus on how creative and organizational structures can better support collaboration, learning, and long-term well-being, rather than burnout and short-term output.
Having lived and worked abroad, she brings an awareness of language, culture, and context into her work. Teaching, designing, and leading in multilingual environments has informed a perspective that values nuance, adaptability, and shared understanding across cultures.
Much of her work is about the process: experimenting, testing, designing, building, and refining over time, creating spaces where people can engage and contribute in ways that feel more meaningful. Through Confluence Community, she continues to explore how art, technology, and education can come together in more accessible and grounded ways.
