Dara was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She recently moved back, after spending the past 14 years in Minnesota, as a licensed attorney since October 2012. She is working on getting her KS license now, and works as a Reference Attorney at Thomson Reuters, which owns the news agency, Reuters. She is a Juris Doctor, attended Mitchell-Hamline School of Law, and graduated in 2012, after completing her Bachelor's Degree at Wichita State in 2004, and her Associate's at Cowley County Community College in 2001. In her free time she loves the outdoors and spending time with friends, family, and her sweet dog Penny.

Dara is helping coordinate initiatives in Wichita, Kansas as part of the Kansas LGBTQ+ Community, and the Global Coming Out Day Art Celebration (CODAC)
